Self service moving companies are oftentimes called "U-load We-drive," for a simple reason. When you hire a self moving company, you arrange all of the packing, loading, and unloading on your own, while giving the company itself to take care of driving the truck to your new home.
In self-moving, the company drops off crates in front of your house -- or delivers an empty moving truck -- you load 'em, lock them up, and the company arrives to pick them up. Once you have shown up at your new home, your new stuff either arrives on its own, or you call to have it delivered to you.
